Left half of bar 3 is normally not in use.

Menu > Character Configuration > Hotbar Settings > Custom > Enable expanded controls with L2+R2

How I set up my crossbars as a Samurai on steamdeck (Currently level ~70)

I try to play every classes/jobs, thus I tend to reuse same slots for same "functionality" across jobs.

SAM as of 6.5

Just copied Nanaki's

Shoha II is gone (finally) which allows all skills to fit on 2 and 2/3 hotbars

a xHB layout that seemed more efficient after reading a few guides and gaining better ability context

Lose Shoha II (Thank God.)

I created my chotbars to be comfortable, practical, and aesthetic.(to me anyway) Nearly all same/similar skills are in the same position across all jobs/roles while allowing for as little finger gymnastics as possible.

My XHB is split between chotbars 2(left) and 7(right)

Waiting for the new action images to get added in to fully get this good

Make sure to change Double tap L2 to "Cross Hotbar 4 - Left" and Double tap R2 to "Cross Hotbar 4 - Right"

things to note: I am a casual player and have set this as a draft setup, subject to change on testing, please use as a template. Main XHB is 1, WXHB is 2 and expanded XHB is 3. for simplicity will now be abbreviated to HB1, HB2 and HB3. HB3 is shared on all classes for me, on DPS second wind is always on the same spot RT+ LT + Y along with mount, teleport etc (not shown).
