The idea for my Fisher setup is that there is a main hotbar for the most useful actions for general/ocean fishing, you press R1 to access spearfishing skills, and the middle hotbar is for ease of movement, large-size fish and Patience skills. Dye button here = Cordial

The idea for my DoL setups is that there is a main hotbar for the most useful actions to spend GP on, you press R1 to access location and gathering chance skills, and the middle hotbar is for ease of movement and macros. The macros are /echo to show me in game lists of special node timings. On hotbar 3, the location skills are repeated (no cross class gathering skills on the site), but in game the Miner equivalent skills are placed alongside these instead. Dye button here = Cordial

I've watched Bun Boss and a few others to get an idea of how things should flow on controller. This is a setup that works for me and I wanted to share it! I like to keep things consistent across my jobs.

Personal MMO Mouse DRK
Hotbar 1: Similar format based on my first tank (GNB). 1-2-3 combo on top. MP-spending oGCDs along the right side. Next row is the AoE 1-2 combo. Then the ranged and gap closer. Then the "bursts" for DRK, and lastly, the grandfathered seat for Sprint.
Hotbar 2 (ctrl): Looking at the first 2x2, single target on top, AoE on bottom; GCD/gauge spenders left, oGCDs middle. Then we have the odd one out, the AoE puddle of hurties. Rampart and reprisal are where they are for all my tanks. Third row also has the job-specific overall high mitigation, then the specific mitigation (DRK is magic, while GNB is phys). While DRK doesn't have a plain heal button, TBN is as close as it gets. While this one has a 60s recast, I decided Oblation gets to take this one for having two charges and can be put on a teammate. Bottom right is the team mitigation.

How I set up my crossbars as a white mage on steamdeck (Currently level ~65)
I try to play every classes/jobs, thus I tend to reuse same slots for same "functionality" across jobs.
DRK 7.0
I show Cross Hotbar 3 (Left) with both of the expanded trigger controls, so you can easily add in another 8 actions if you prefer, I use XHB 8 as a shared bar between all classes for traversal and general actions outside of combat. Role actions are consistent among my layouts, and so are general actions. The macro icon is a placeholder for a Tincture/Gemdraught.
MMO Mouse DRK - Tashaxe
Hotbar 1 uses the 12 MMO mouse buttons. Hotbar 2 uses those 12 buttons with Shift as the modifier. Hotbar 3 uses those 12 buttons with Alt as the modifier.

needs xivcombo plugin to work properly. It also has macros for taunt and shirk on the third bar that I can easily activate with holding LT + RT. As well as skills I can put on the second party without going through the party list. Example: /ac "The Blackest Night" <2>
Controller Tank Series
Designed with minimal swapping between 1 and 2. Most GCD on the non-D pad to help with attacking and moving. Hotbar 8 L and R are same so no thinking. Hotbar 1 is Single target while Hotbar 2 is AOE minded. Hotbar 2 has mount + sprint so keep in mind. Dye = Pot for raiders, if not than whatever you want. Enabled customization when weapon is drawn/sheathed Hotbar 1 + 2. That means hotbar 3 you will manually have to switch to if you need stuff on there. part of my Tank series where similar skills are in the same spots and play roughly in same style. Please Enjoy!
